What’s Happening Here
Hey Friends-
In case you’re curious what I’m working on these days, here is the quick rundown:
- Alumni- I’m keeping in contact with our alumni flung all over Britain and the rest of the world. I’m also setting up trips to visit various cities each month, as well as planning a regular Saturday night service in Birmingham that will launch in January.
- Welcome Project- We’re renovating our new house, so I’m helping with painting and everything else that I can. I’m not really the most skilled craftsman, but I do what I can.
- New Tuesday Night’s at TC’s. TC’s is a pub near our place that has graciously offered to let us host our main gathering at their pub. We’re pretty excited and more than a little nervous as we work out the details of how this new operation is going to look.
- Planning talks and skits. I haven’t done a skit in years. I really don’t think I’m that funny anymore (if I ever was), but I’m going for it regardless. Hopefully, with the help of new exchange student Raleigh and other Canvas students, we’ll make a few people in the audience laugh.
- Fundraising- For the Welcome Project (everything from our free giveaways to coffee and tea to paint and drywall).
- More Fundraising- I definitely need more monthly support or I’ll have to come home at some point and close the gap. If you’d like to give and be very instrumental in this venture, please contact me: tatum@canvashouse.org
- Meeting lots and lots of students. Hopefully. A few of us on staff are going to try to become friends with the American football team here at the university. This is largely because we just really miss football in the states. Maybe they’ll let us coach! Though they probably don’t need us, since the squad just won the national championship.
Consider yourself updated. Thanks for reading!
Tatum.
